Kulu (Salt Lake-Duden Lake)

So now I am finally on my way to Istanbul, after a great week of Eid/Bayram celebrations I feel motivated for school. My last stop during my trip was Kulu, my parents were born and raised in this village just outside of Konya. I am going to share pictures that I have been taking in Kulu whereas you can find the Salt Lake and Duden Lake (Kucukgöl) also called the paradise of birds. The Salt lake is litterally a lake where you will be seeing kilometers of salt. There is salt delivered from this lake to all over the country and other european countries all over the world. This salt and the mud underneath is very pure and good for peopl who have exemas and injuries. The salt is so strong in the air that you really feel it in your mouth when you start walking on the lake. Düden Lake normally known as Kucukgöl between the Kulu people, is also known as the paradise of birds. Thousands of different bird species come together during the summer period at this lake and the colours and forms of the birds give such a perfect and beautiful result of nature. There has been a lot of documents and tv programs about these two places located just outside of Kulu, it is worth visiting so if you have your ways through Kulu or near Konya do not forget to visit The Salt Lake and Düden Lake! One last thing concering Kulu, the park of Olof Palme, this park has been dedicated to the memory of Olof Palme. Olof Palme is an old Social Democrat in Sweden who has been a great support for the turkish people from Kulu during his time. Bye Kulu hello Istanbuuuuuuuuuul!
